Assistance for Catheter Placement
The FDA approved marketing of a robotic assisted system to place and control mapping catheters used during electrophysiology procedures developed by Hansen Medical.
The Sensei Robotic Catheter System and Artisan Control Catheter facilitates placement of mapping catheters in difficult to access anatomic locations. The catheters are a key piece during diagnosis of abnormal heart rhythms that facilitate mapping.
Robotic placement of catheters extend clinician’s capability through control over placement with the remote system. The tool offers clinicians the ability to be seated during the procedure to reduce fatigue and has ergonomic design features.
The Sensei System can be used with other tools associated with cardiac catheterization; including ultrasound, fluoroscopy, 3D surface mapping, and collection of patient electrocardiogram data.
