Boston Scientific Lead Approved

Boston Scientific said on April 17th that it received FDA approval for a new wire developed for use with pacemakers and defibrillators that will transmit energy from devices to the heart. The ACUITY Steerable Left Ventricular Lead has a deflectable tip which facilitates device placement.

The lead also includes the means to alter the heart stimulation after implantation, mitigating the need for additional invasive procedures to achieve the same ends. Four different configurations for left-sided heart stimulation are available.
