Control for Oozing Blood

OMRIX Biopharmaceuticals, Ltd. of Israel procured approval from the FDA for Evicel Fibrin Sealant. The liquid effectively halts blood oozing from small vessels during vascular procedures when standard techniques are not optimal options.

Evicel is manufactured from pooled human plasma and contains two known clotting factors: thrombin and fibrinogen concentrate. There is a risk of transmitted blood-borne viruses with the product, minimized by a two step cleansing process.
