EN-Chart Purchased by McKesson
McKesson announced the purchase of EN-Chart Scanning Program, LLC. EN-Chart provides emergency rooms with technology that supports facility coding and compliance.
The advanced tools offered by EN-Chart support charge and capture, as well as advanced coding. Those support optimization of revenue in the emergency room, along with enhancing information systems used in the emergency room. This automated process increases the generation of revenue by automating both compliance and coding procedures.
The systems offered by EN-Chart can be incorporated with other information technology systems already being used in the emergency room or it can serve as a stand alone tool. Importantly, the EN-Chart systems integrate with the Horizon Emergency Care solution offered by McKesson.
Data from EN-Chart indicates that emergency rooms often miss opportunities to increase revenue. For example, an organization that treats 50,000 people annually may lose, on average, $84 per patient. This loss is associated with compliance problems or deficiencies in charting.
The two companies have worked together over the past two years. During that partnership, McKesson has offered the EN-Chart tools as a component of Horizon Emergency Care Facility Coding.
