Avantis Endoscopy System Cleared

A new tool that addresses current limitations with standard colonoscopy received FDA approval.

Avantis Medical designed the Third Eye Retroscope Auxillary Endoscopy System. The device is used with standard colonoscopy equipment; users pass the Third Eye through the endoscope. The device then facilitates retrograde visualization as the scope is removed from the colon.

The device adds increased utility to colonoscopy, which is already the preferred screening method among many clinicians. It further expands the utility by assessing areas of the colon which are not easily visualized with colonoscopy.
