Sonora Launches Device to Assist Endoscopy Maintenance

Sonora Medical Systems added a new device, as described in a press release, to its line of products for the medical imaging market, the Firefly. The Firefly is an endoscopic testing device that measures the amount of luminous radiation from standard endoscopy tools such as fiber optic cables, endoscopes, and medical endoscopic light sources.

The handheld device is operated with a single touch and provides objective measures of the light output from the various components used during endoscopy procedures. The Firefly includes a light meter, integrating spehre, and adapters to integrate with endoscopy equipment.

Sonora suggest that the device can be used for a number of supply chain management tasks, including predictive maintenance, quality assurance, and product acceptance.
