VA Contract Awarded to Given Imaging
The National Acquisition Center for the Veteran’s Administration (VA) awarded Given Imaging a five year Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract. The estimated worth of the new contract is $7.5 million over the term.
All the existing contracts between the VA and Given Imaging will fall under the terms of this new contract. Those include deals with the Department of Defense Facilities, the VA Medical Centers, and others under the VA auspices that have access to products from Given.
All other VA facilities will also fall under this new contract. Other participants under the VA umbrella include Indian Health Services and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Product available from Given already utilized at the facilities include the Given PillCam; the FDA approval for this device was described in HospitalBuyer, in addition to the Given Workstation and other products for the Israeli-based company.
Executives from Given note that this will expand the opportunities for the two agencies to continue working together in the future, as noted in the company’s press release describing the contract.
