ElDorado Donor System Launched

The Food and Drug Administration approved the new blood management system from Global Med Technologies, Incorporated. The new ElDorado Donor software system is manufactured by Wyndgate Technologies, a Global Med division. News of the approval was published in a press release issued by Global Med Technologies.

The system is the newest version of the company’s software for blood management. The solution provides information management support for both donor centers and blood banks. Features supported by the software include automation, management, and controlling of activities for donors. It also supports donor collections, manufacturing, testing, inventory, and distribution. The software includes tools to support labeling, as suggested by ISBT 128 and ABC Codabar standards.

Safety features, likewise, are included in ElDorado. Blood products and components, as well as related supply items, can be evaluated for safety with the software system. These are performed across the system as a normal element of processing specimens. A broad range of manufacturing controls, which can be modified by a site, are also incorporated.

The ElDorado Donor software includes an integrated modular configuration. This design supports system flexibility and functioning to shape the software for a facility’s specific needs across the collection to donation or distribution processes. Drop down lists and easy access “find” forms simplify use in the blood bank. As well, At-a-Glance bars in the system provide quick access to key information. The system was designed to be scalable and can be used in a broad array of facilities, from a small community hospital to a regional or national blood center.
