MRI Evaluates Angiogenesis
Health Imaging News reported on Perceptive Informatics’s improved technique to monitor tumors with technology based on magnetic resonance imaging. The new imaging tool more closely examines the blood flow of tumors, which is a critical component of tumor activity.
The new technology, dubbed the Double Reference Tissue Method (DRTM) is based on MRI technology. The benefit of the tool is the ability to monitor tumor activity during treatment.
A continued area of therapeutic research for solid malignancies is anti-angiogenic agents. This imaging method may offer superior results to monitor the effects of these treatments.
