Plastic Hemocytometer Introduced

Manual counting of cells and particles, employed in the pathology lab, traditionally relies on glass materials which are prone to both breakage and scratches. Advanced Microscopy Group (AMG) is now offering an alternative hemocytometer, C-Chip, manufactured from quartz-grade optical plastic.

In addition to being unbreakable and scratch-proof, the equipment is lightweight. The hemocytometer has an embedded grid with nine sqaures and a 3×3mm total counting area. Also included are coverslips integrated with the product, which minimizes the risk of sample contaminaiton.

Hemocytometers are frequently employed in hematology to assess blood counts and are also used for tissue culture, IVF, and microbiology.
