New Gamma Camera Ready for Market

The T-Quest mobile gamma camera has been granted marketing clearance by the Food and Drug Administration. The nuclear medicine tool is manufactured by Medx, a company that specializes in nuclear imaging systems. News of the clearance was posted on the company’s website.

The T-Quest is a portable gamma camera. It is intended for use in imaging the thyroid and completion of uptake calculations. It is also appropriate for use imaging other small organs. The camera acquires superior imaging through a minimized focal distance and mm/pixel ratio that maximizes the diagnostic quality.

The T-Quest is space friendly with a small footprint of eight feet, useful for facilities with space limitations in the nuclear medicine setting. The system is easily moved throughout a healthcare setting with four durable wheel casters. The system additionally has an unobtrusive design, which facilitates patient comfort during examinations.

The new camera works with the company’s existing NuQuest acquisition and processing computer. As such, the tool can serve as a complete standalone system. NuQuest delivers the energy, uniformity, and linearity corrections required for this type of imaging. In addition, the software systems of the NuQuest can be customized for thyroid and parathyroid imaging protocols as well as other available processing tools for nuclear imaging.

NuQuest utilizes simple to use pull down menus in the user interface. As well, the computer has DICOM 3.0 file export, printing, and modality worklist capabilities.
