Cervical Plating System Market-Ready
The FDA approved the Kinetic-SL, a new anterior cervical plating system from Life Spine. The news release was posted on the Life Spine website.
The new device is an internally dynamized plating system that is particularly flexible. Additionally, the plate has a narrow width at 12mm. It was created in recognition of the need to treat patients of a smaller stature. This device profile provides surgeons a unique option when considering implants to treat diseases of the cervical spine.
The Kinetic-SL is similar to other devices from the Kinetic line of products. Product features include a zero-step locking mechanism and a plate that is static. As well, it features 0-2mm of fully adjustable internal dynamization per level, along with an ultra slim pre-lordosed profile. The plate is available in sizes ranging from 21 to 111mm, in levels one to five.
The system’s design supports a large graft window and generous screw angulation. The large graft window is a feature not available with other similar products on the market. The Kinetic-SL incorporates a lock, which allows secure fixation of bone screws without requiring additional pieces to lock the device. Screw backout is minimized by the self-retaining screw capture mechanism, which still allows angulation of screws.
This new product expands the availability of options to treat cervical disease from Life Spine.
