HTP Inc. Purchased by McKesson

HTP, Incorporated has been acquired by RelayHealth, a division of McKesson Corporation. The terms of the deal were not publicly disclosed. The news was shared in a press release issued by HTP.

HTP is a supplier of revenue cycle management and transaction processing software solutions. One component of these tools is to support validation of patient demographic information, along with combining benefit and eligibility determination in concert with data from the hospital pricing contract to determine patient’s share of costs.

HTP had at least 40 different hospital clients. Almost 75 percent of these did not have a previous relationship with McKesson.

All features help to identify potential financial assistance or insurance coverage for patients, manage compliance issues related to charity care, and document medical necessity for treatment. HTP also has a processing platform for clinical/financial transactions within health information exchange.

RelayHealth provides services related to claims clearinghouse, software tools for claims management and other sorts of revenue cycle management, services for outsourced billing and management of the business office. An additional solution support consultation between patients and clinicians. Some of RelayHealth’s customers include insurers and pharmacies.
