New Products to Complement Cochlear Implants Launched
Cochlear Americas unveiled three products to accompany their cochlear implant systems for the pediatric population, including infants and toddlers. The products are intended to improve the effectiveness of the implants.
The Freedom Snugfit supports appropriate placement of implant components to foster comfort and a natural position within the ear. Sound processor position is maintained with lower and upper ear hooks and a main body piece. The main piece is manufactured from a soft material that maintains durability. The hooks are adjustable to achieve the appropriate placement and comfort for each child.
The Babyworn Accessory Pack and Babyworn Cable are specifically designed for cochlear implants used for infants. The product can be used with either behind the ear implants or those that use a configuration on the upper body.
Also being offered is the Behind the Ear (BTE) Tamper-Resistant Battery Holder, which limits the ability of little fingers to access and remove batteries in the implant devices. The device also includes a tool to facilitate access to the battery by parents and caregivers as required.
