Lipo System Gains News Indication
The CoolLipo 320 nm laser system received an additional indication from the FDA. The device, manufactured by CoolTouch, was approved for laser lipolysis. News of the approval was posted on the Healthcare Sales and Marketing Network.
The wavelength used with the CoolLipo, 320 nanometers, targets connective tissue and collagen. The system delivers short pulses of light and has higher peak power compared to other systems. The short pulse length ablates a higher volume of tissue while mitigating damage. High peak power has an increased capability to liquefy fat.
Scientists suppose that tool effectiveness is secondary to more absorption of this light wavelength. This approach is capable of tightening the dermis from the inside out. The system is used in the outpatient setting and patients receive local anaesthesia.
The CoolLipo is specifically intended to remove fat from locations such as the chin, arms, and neck. It leads to better outcomes than conventional approaches to liposuction for larger surface areas. Research indicates that use of this tool is superior to traditional lipoaspiration alone; it can be up to two times as effective.
Side effects from the procedure include minimal bruising, if any. The recovery time is substantially shorter and the procedure is less expensive than a complete neck or face lift.
