GE Unveils Cerebral Software

GE Healthcare launched new tools to complement their Perfusion 4 Neuro software program to help radiologists and clinicians assess CT studies of the brain. The program supports evaluation of perfusion, blood volume, and capillary permeability changes.

The package is designed to evaluate patients who have had a stroke or cancerous tumors in the brain. The technology can also be used to monitor how patients are responding to treatment regimens.

The additions to the software program evaluate blood perfusion in the brain by evaluating both quantitative and qualitative characteristics of blood perfusion.

Another component of the new offering is a tool, the Tissue Classification Index. This element supports tissue evaluation and is particularly intended to evaluate patients who have had a stroke.
