Two Small Clot Retrievers Launched
Adding to their existing product line, Concentric Medical added two new retrievers for clot retrieval in stroke patients. The two, the Merci L4 and L5 Mini Retrievers, are the smallest of the entire line of Merci Retrievers offered by Concentric Medical.
The device is utilized in a manner similar to a standard catheterization approach. The device is deployed in an artery accessed via the groin. The Merci Retriever then retrieves and removes the offending clot.
The device offers a treatment option for those patients who are not eligible for clot-busting therapy with tpa or did not respond to treatment with such.
