Ultrasound System Measures Blood Flow in the Brain

Medifico launched their new Brainvue-TCD Transcranial Doppler 1000. This system is a diagnostic and assessment tool to assess blood flow within the brain. A description of the approval was posted on the Medifico website.

The Brainvue incorporates advanced ultrasound technology to assess blood flow within the brain through non-invasive assessment. The system supports evaluation of the velocity of blood flow through major basal transcranial arteries.

The system is a battery-operated, handheld unit that is entirely portable. This fosters use in a variety of different healthcare settings, including during patient transport. Other applications include assessment of wounded soldiers on the battlefield and athletes injured while playing sports.

A variety of different conditions can be assessed with the new system, including concussion, sickle cell disease, detection of holes between heart chambers, migraines, and strokes. Other neurological conditions can be assessed with the Brainvue.

One particular benefit of the technology is that it is inexpensive. This expands the opportunity for more healthcare facilities to acquire the equipment, particularly underserved communities that do not have access to more expensive imaging tools.

Medifico, Inc. is an innovative, medical equipment company. The organization is intent on the promotion of the most accurate diagnosis of stroke, across stages of disease and including patient monitoring over time. It secondly promotes the prevention of stroke and intervention to treat disease.
