New 1.5T MR System Launched by Toshiba
The new open-bore 1.5T Vantage Titan MR System from Toshiba America Medical Systems was granted marketing and sales clearance from the FDA. The clearance was described on Toshiba’s website. The company plans to make the product commercially available during the first quarter of 2008.
The system offers a clinical field of vision with a large bore size, which is a unique offering. This enables production of high quality images without compromising overall imaging performance or homogeneity.
Features of the Vantage Titan include the company’s patented Pianissimo noise reduction technology. These features improve the patient experience during imaging.
The open-bore system entails a large 71-cm patient aperture, which is 18 percent larger than the other systems currently available on the market.
The system can utilize propriety contrast-free MRA technology offered by Toshiba. Those include Contrast-free Improved Angiography (CIA), Time-Slip Angiography (TSA), Time-Space Labeling Inversion Pulse (Time-SLIP), and Fresh Blood Imaging (FBI).
