Tenn Signs Deal with GE
The University of Tennessee Medical Center has opted to implement the Centricity Perioperative Software Solution from GE Healthcare IT. The system will be utilized in a large, regional facility serving Western North Carolina, Southeast Kentucky, and Eastern Tennessee. GE published a news release describing the contract award.
Officials from the University cited the need to adopt a solution to serve the entire perioperative spectrum of care. Features sought included full documentation, state-of-the-art patient safety features, and simple to use. The ability to support supply chain management across a large system was also key.
Version 7.5 of the Centricity Perioperative tool will be deployed across the 26 operating rooms at the Center. It will also be incorporated as the surgical services grows; 55 operating rooms are planned. The software will be used to support comprehensive revenue cycle management and complete documentation.
Additional activities supported by Centricity include data and workflow for pre-admission testing through the post anaesthesia care unit. The system also assists with comprehensive resource management. Integrated instrument sets tracking is completed with the Sterile Processing Manager. Centricity Tracker provides patients’ guests with real-time updates.
A number of other organizations have also adopted the Centricity system, including ProHEALTH and MetroHealth System in Cleveland, both described on HospitalBuyer.
